How NexusMon connects.
Fees arrive by card and mobile money, notices go out by SMS, and your records come in from Excel. Here is what each connection does, why it helps, and how to switch it on.
Money in
Fees from parents, by card, mobile money, bank or cash, all landing in one ledger.
Messages out
Notices and codes to parents' phones, and a direct line from your office to ours.

Paystack
Card and mobile money checkout
Parents pay fees online by card or mobile money, and the payment is recorded against the pupil without anyone typing it in.
What it does
- Opens a secure Paystack checkout from the parent's fee statement, for the exact amount owed.
- Credits the pupil's ledger and issues the receipt once Paystack confirms the payment.
- Pays into your school's own Paystack account, so the money goes from Paystack to your bank, not through us.
How it connects
- 1
Have a Paystack business account
Sign up at paystack.com and complete their business verification. Paystack sets your settlement bank account and payout schedule.
- 2
Add it in NexusMon
In the web app, go to Fees → Payment channels → Paystack and paste your public and secret keys from the Paystack dashboard. If you would rather not share keys, a Paystack subaccount code works too.
- 3
Parents tap Pay
The Pay button appears on every fee statement in the parent app and the web portal. No setup is needed on their side.
Why it helps
- No more matching bank slips to pupils by hand.
- Parents pay from anywhere, at any hour, without queueing at the bank.
- Every payment carries its reference, so the bursar's books balance to the pesewa.
Good to know
- Paystack charges its own transaction fee, deducted before payout. NexusMon adds nothing on top.
- Your secret key is encrypted at rest and never shown again after you save it; the screen shows only a fingerprint (the start and the last four characters).
- A payment is credited only after NexusMon has checked with Paystack that the full amount, in the right currency, was collected.

MTN MoMo and Telecel Cash
Mobile money, two ways
Most families in Ghana pay by mobile money. NexusMon takes it whichever way your school already works.
Telecel Cash, MTN MoMo and AT MoneyWhat it does
- Automatic: parents choose Mobile Money in the online checkout (Paystack, or SeevCash for a MoMo-only checkout) and approve the prompt on their phone. The fee is credited by itself.
- Your own line: list your school's MoMo merchant number. Parents see it in the app with the exact reference to quote, and the bursar records the transaction ID.
- Works with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money. Old names such as Vodafone Cash and AirtelTigo are recognised.
How it connects
- 1
Choose a route
Turn on the online checkout (see Paystack above, or add SeevCash the same way), list your own MoMo line, or do both.
- 2
Add your line
Under Fees → Payment channels → Mobile money, enter the network, the number and the registered account name. NexusMon checks the number's format as you type.
- 3
Parents pay, you reconcile
Checkout payments settle themselves. Payments to your own line are recorded with their transaction ID, and the reconciliation report matches them against your statement.
Why it helps
- Parents pay the way they already pay for everything else.
- The pupil's admission number is the reference, so every transfer can be traced to a child.
- One ledger for MoMo, card, bank and cash, so arrears are always current.
Good to know
- There is no direct connection to the telcos. Automatic mobile money goes through Paystack or SeevCash, which handle the network side.
- The account name is required for every line, because it is what a parent checks before sending money.

Arkesel SMS
Guardian alerts by text
Urgent notices reach every parent's phone, including parents who never open an app or an email.
What it does
- Sends school announcements by text alongside in-app, email and push, chosen per announcement.
- Keeps each text to one SMS, for example “[URGENT] School closes at noon today…”, with the full message in the app, so one notice costs one credit per parent.
- Can send sign-in and password-reset codes by text to anyone who prefers it over email.
How it connects
- 1
Nothing to set up
SMS runs on NexusMon's own Arkesel account under a registered sender name. Your school does not need an Arkesel account.
- 2
Tick SMS when you send
When you send an announcement, choose SMS as a channel. The preview shows how many texts it will use before anything goes out.
- 3
See who got it
Each recipient's delivery is tracked. A missing or invalid phone number is listed against that parent, so the office knows who to call.
Why it helps
- Closures, emergencies and fee reminders reach every family the same day.
- No surprise bills: you see the count before you send.
- Parents without smartphones are not left out.
Good to know
- Every plan includes SMS each term (750 to 4,000 a term, by plan). More can be bought as an add-on.
- Sign-in codes go by email unless the person chooses text, because email is free and every text is billed.

Support hotline
When you need a person, message us on WhatsApp. It is how most heads and bursars already reach their suppliers.
What it does
- Puts your administrators and bursars in touch with the NexusMon team for questions, training and problems.
- Lets you send a screenshot or a voice note instead of describing the problem in writing.
- Premium schools get priority replies.
How it connects
- 1
Save the number
Add +233 50 274 1426 to your phone, or tap the button below.
- 2
Say which school
Include your school code so we can find your account straight away.
Why it helps
- A real person, not a ticket queue.
- Help during the school day, in the app you already use.
Good to know
- WhatsApp is for talking to us. NexusMon does not message parents on WhatsApp; parents are reached in the app, by email and by SMS.
- Never send passwords or full card numbers over chat. We will never ask for them.

Excel
Bring your records across
Your pupils, parents and staff are probably in spreadsheets already. You don't have to retype them.
What it does
- Four ready-made workbooks: pupils, guardians, teachers and non-teaching staff.
- Each has an Instructions sheet, dropdowns for things like gender and relationship, and ten example rows.
- Siblings share one guardian account, so a parent with three children signs in once.
How it connects
- 1
Download the templates
Copy your existing lists into the matching columns. Required columns are marked with an asterisk.
- 2
Send them to us
Email or WhatsApp the completed files. We check every row and tell you about anything we could not import, such as a duplicate admission number or a class name that does not match.
- 3
Start using it
Your school opens with its roll in place. Parents and staff choose their own password with Forgot password on the sign-in page, using the email or phone you gave us.
Why it helps
- Go live in days, not after a term of data entry.
- Nothing existing is overwritten; bad rows are reported, not guessed at.
- No passwords travel in a spreadsheet.
Good to know
- Assisted import is included from Standard up, and available on Starter for a one-off fee. See pricing.
- Classes, categories and departments are matched by name, so set up your classes first.
Not sure which to switch on?
Most schools start with mobile money and SMS, and add Paystack once parents are used to paying online. We will help you choose.
Turn a busy term into a calm one.
- Start free, no card
- Live the same day
- No data lock-in
